Warren McKenna, III is a lifelong New Orleanian who has dedicated thirty years to serving the people of New Orleans in courtrooms, public institutions, and community organizations. Guided by the core principles of fairness, integrity, and equal justice under the law, Warren has built a balanced and distinguished career representing individuals, corporate institutions, and the public across city, state, and federal courts.

I want to bring that experience to the bench, improve efficiency and make sure people who come before the court are treated fairly and impartially. I’m ready to serve.”

Warren began his career as a civil litigator, handling matters that included insurance defense, products liability, medical malpractice defense, and aviation litigation. Five years into his legal career, in 2001, he founded The McKenna Firm. His practice grew to include real estate and property matters, contracts, business disputes, personal injury, professional malpractice, criminal defense, and other areas of law.

His career has also included extensive public service. As an Assistant City Attorney, Warren worked on real estate, transportation, land use, and constitutional matters. He later represented the City of New Orleans in Municipal and Traffic Court. Across nearly three decades, Warren has represented individuals, businesses, and government entities, giving him experience with civil disputes from different sides of the courtroom. He has also mediated disputes between parties and served as Judge Pro Tempore, adding the perspective and responsibility of serving from the bench.

After Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Warren’s property work became particularly important to families trying to return home and rebuild. Questions of title and ownership prevented some New Orleanians from accessing the Road Home recovery program. Warren obtained property judgments and helped families establish ownership so they could access recovery resources and move forward with their homes. He later founded Historic Title, expanding his work in real estate closings, successions, deeds, donations, contracts, and other property and business matters.

Warren’s service extends into the legal profession and the broader New Orleans community. He has held leadership roles with the Greater New Orleans Louis A. Martinet Legal Society and Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, including serving in board leadership and as president. His civic involvement has included the Young Leadership Council, One Book One New Orleans, and volunteer service through his children’s schools.

New Orleans has remained home throughout Warren’s story. He and his wife, attorney Halima Narcisse McKenna, have four children and have lived in Algiers for more than a decade. Away from his legal work, Warren enjoys football, basketball, golf, music, and time with his family.

Nearly 30 years after beginning his legal career, Warren is seeking to bring that breadth of experience to the bench as Judge of Orleans Parish Civil District Court, Division L.

Raised in Gentilly, Warren graduated from Jesuit High School before attending Morehouse College, where he earned a degree in business with a concentration in finance and sang with the Morehouse College Glee Club. He returned home for law school, earning his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Southern University Law Center, and was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 1996.

He and his wife, Halima Narcisse McKenna, operate The McKenna Firm, LLC together and are the proud parents of four children, Gabriel, Alexander, Adrienne, and Isabella, along with their mini goldendoodle, Kirby.
